In Auckland it will be starting on Thursday March 3rd at 9am, Nathan Homestead in Manurewa and Finish Sat Morning. We are able to stay overnight at Nathan Homestead. This is a collaborative project between the artists participating. Those who wish to participate can bring their own screens, plates, other print supplies etc to help create these one of a kind images. *great if you can come for 2 hours or more : ) Just think you can use old plates or imagery, you could even only ink up a portion of the plate, using stencils. This about PLAY and building connections by working together.

50 hour print marathon, two printmaking communities, Adelaide and Auckland. Each group will produce 50 themed monoprints during a public print marathon. 25 prints from each group’s set of 50 monoprints will be exchanged with the other group. Two exhibitions of 25 Adelaide and 25 Auckland prints will be hung later in 2016, one in Adelaide and the other in Auckland. Exhibited monoprints and commemorative poster/zines will be available to purchase. The project is about having fun, building local printmaking connections in each city and growing an active community of Australian and New Zealand printmakers who will work and print together into the future. Co-ordinated by Simone Tippett, SA and Toni Mosley, Auckland.

Printmaking with Toni Mosley at the Auckland Botanic Gardens

Here are some photos from Toni's adult Screen Printing Workshop at Auckland Botanical Gardens that coincides with their Sculpture in the Gardens. The theme for the printmaking was 'Building your own garden'........................... A very busy time was had and the 2 workshops were booked out!

The recent printing workshop at Auckland Botanical Gardens was both informative and enjoyable.

Artist Toni Mosley demonstrated not only her vast knowledge of printing but also her talent as a teacher.

The workshop was based around a botanical theme. All of the materials and screens were supplied.

We covered many processes like how to screen the ink onto paper, layering up of images on one page, registering an image to print, types of paper...

The workshop gave me an insight into how complex and subtle the screen printing process can be.

Toni can have up to 15 layers of print on one of her art pieces.

The day long work shop left me happy with what I had achieved but also wanting to find out more about printing.
